Homemade Chocolate Body Paint

Chocolate body paintYou can hardly find someone who doesn’t like chocolate and there are so many things that you can do with it. Eat the chocolate bar as it is. Make a brownie. Bake a cake or a cupcake. Make a chocolate fondue, a chocolate drink or a chocolate ice cream. The list is endless but perhaps we can add one more – a chocolate body paint. Whether you are simply painting your face or a full body makeover, give chocolate paint a try. Valentine’s day or not, this is a simple recipe that you can do at home to maybe spice up your life as a couple.

To make the chocolate paint you will need:

90 grams (6 tbsp) cocoa powder
90 grams (6 tbsp) butter
90 grams (6 tbsp) sugar (golden caster sugar or regular sugar is fine)
6 tbsp water
pinch of salt
You will also need a clean jar and a paint brush.

DIRECTIONS

In a saucepan, put water, sugar and salt over low heat. Constantly stir the mixture until it is blended and once it comes to a boil, remove it from the heat and let it cool for a minute. Add the butter and the cocoa powder. If you plan to experiment and add flavor such as mint, coffee, raspberry or vanilla you can do so at this point. Mix well until it looks smooth and velvety.

Pour the mixture into a clean jar. Once it has cooled down, you can now let your imaginations run wild on where or how to use the delicious chocolate body paint that you just created.

Keep the concoction refrigerated if you don’t intend to use it right away. You will also notice that at some point the mixture would thicken or harden. When this happens, put it in a microwave oven for 20 seconds and stir well because microwaves can often create hot spots. Let it cool for a few minutes before using.

Have fun!
